I removed the pulley and found that the inner race had walked inward. This is what happens when the drive belt is over tightened. That's probably what caused the pulley to come loose and wear out the splines. The pulley nut had lots of red lock tight and was still in place.
Notice a few splines missing on the left pulley.
The inner race has walked inward. The tool will not fit behind the race.
I ground a slot on each side with my cut off wheel. You need to be careful not to cut too deep.
This will allow the tool to fit so the race can be removed.
Removing the inner race.

V-Twin Expo 2011
Me and Matt from Backstreethavoc Magazine. Matt and I shared a booth for the weekend. Matt's a great guy and lots fun to hang with, I had a blast. Oh and it just so happens that his magazine is really cool too. Filled with interesting subjects and good writing on quality print. I think it's going to be a hit.

V-Twin Expo 2011
On Thursday after we got settled into Hotel we went down to the Mainstay Bar for a drink. This is my favorite bar in Cinci. I go there every year. The bartenders are always nice and make me feel like a local. We were pleasantly surprised at the band we saw playing there. "The Influence" put on a great show. Way better than the band they opened for, in my opinion. We bought the CD and listened all the way home to Texas.
